We already have a dedicated staff that reviews books directly sent to Small Spiral Notebook. **Do not make it easy for us to pass on your work, please read and review the below guidelines carefully.

PRINT ISSUE

Please submit TWO COPIES - THIS MEANS TWO COPIES OF YOUR WORK, NOT JUST ONE (we will be very sad and unhappy if you only send us ONE copy) of only one unpublished manuscript at a time (1 story, 1 essay, or up to 4 poems). Please format the work as follows: double spaced (poems may be single-spaced), Times New Roman, 12inch font. We consider stories/essays/poems up to 5000 words in length. Submissions must contain your name, address and either a valid email/telephone number where you can be reached, and must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a reply. Please indicate the genre of your submission (Fiction/Non Fiction/Poetry) on the envelope. Simultaneous submissions are accepted provided you notify us promptly by email, if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please note that we do not accept submissions for the print issue via email.

We acquire first North American serial rights, non-exclusive, one-time anthology rights, and online serial rights. All rights revert back to the author upon publication.

Regrettably, we are small and we are poor, so we cannot pay at this time. Contributors will receive two (2) copies in which the author’s work plus a one-year subscription as payment.

Please format the work as follows: double spaced (poems may be single-spaced), Times New Roman, 12inch font. We consider stories/essays/poems up to 3000 words in length. Please send work as either a .doc or .rtf attachment. Submissions pasted in the body of an email will not be accepted.
